EUGANEAN HILLS

A mirage: they look like large “flowery islands”, as Shelley called them, which stand out, rising from the vast flat Veneto landscape. And as soon as you approach these green hills of volcanic origin, born under the sea millions of years ago, it is as if you return to childhood drawings, to the mountainous and hilly backgrounds of a little nativity scene.

Who enters this fairytale landscape falls hopelessly in love with it forever. As it has happened over the centuries to great poets and writers: Petrarca, Foscolo, D’Annunzio, Fogazzaro, but also Byron, Shelley and Chatwin; in their verses we find all the fascination these hills evoke when they appear from the distance to those who arrive from Venice, ploughing the waters of the great lagoon.

Medieval towns, castles and forts, silent monasteries, magnificent Veneto villas: traveling along ancient canals and rivers you come to discover the tiny corners of paradise, which is impossible to forget. In this unique territory, the agricultural vocation is centuries-old, dating back to Roman times. The microclimate is typically Mediterranean with a good temperature range, a lot of sun in summer and good ventilation.
